"Trying to find ways to sneak a little extra protein in things that I make and these protein brownies really did not disappoint. I also wanted to add a little twist so I threw in some oranges because they are in season.
For protein I used Equip's chocolate clean protein powder. This one is actually made from beef isolate powder instead of whey. Don't worry, it doesn't taste like beef at all - it tastes really good, and is perfect in the recipe."
"I used coconut sugar instead of refined sugar, but after tasting the batter I felt like I needed to add a little bit of maple syrup.
Then I let them bake for about 20 minutes. Once they came out I let them cool and then I had a little taste test, these turned out so good. The hint of orange was just so fun and we all know brownies are better the next day. So the best part is, these just get better and better!"
Ingredients:

Zest of 1 Cara Cara orange

½ cup butter melted
- ½ cup coconut sugar (or honey/maple syrup for a more gooey texture)

Juice of ½ Cara Cara orange (~2 tbsp)

½ tsp vanilla extract

½ cup Equip chocolate beef protein powder

½ cup einkorn flour
-
¼ cup cacao powder
-
½ tsp baking powder
-
¼ tsp sea salt
- 2 eggs
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and coconut sugar until smooth.
3. Add in eggs, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, mix Equip Chocolate Clean Protein Powder, einkorn flour, cacao powder, baking powder, and sea salt.
5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing! Add a drizzle of maple syrup if needed!
6. If using, fold in dark chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
7. Pour batter into the pan and smooth the top.
8. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft (for fudgy brownies).
9. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing!
